Upper Lip Lift / Bullhorn Lip Lift
Lip Lift surgery is a specialist plastic surgery operation to create a more feminine upper lip shape by removing tissue from just below the nose. This effectively lifts the upper lip and improves the shape but does not add fullness. Lip Augmentation can be achieved in combination with Lip Lift surgery to give full soft youthful aesthetically luscious lips. The procedure can create a more proportional smile and reduce the signs of ageing around the mouth.

The Upper Lip Lift is a 40 minute procedure in which the patient is awake but numbed. The solution to improving an elongated upper lip is to reduce the length of the upper lip area. By surgically removing the tissue beneath the nose, the lips can be made to look lifted and the smile more attractive. Luckily, the incision is placed directly at the base of the nose, with little to no visibility of the scar over time.
Common to all surgical procedures there are always risks associated with surgery. However, complications are uncommon. Mild discomfort is expected for the first 3 – 5 days. Bruising is uncommon and may take 7 to 10 days to resolve, while major bleeding is rare. Infection is infrequent (less than 0.5%) and will require a course of appropriate antibiotics. Hypertropic or keloid scarring is also rare but will require specific treatments to reduce the scarring.
Swelling should subside within 1-2 weeks and tightness should diminish within a few months. Mild discomfort may occur but should not hinder day-to-day tasks.
